I’ve been getting lots of inquiries about author visits. So exciting! As a high school English teacher since 2000, I love talking to people about books and writing. I’m in the process of printing my full author visit brochure, so in the meantime, here are my author visit offerings and fees to answer any questions.

*Travel expenses (air and hotel) are not included in the above prices. Please email for estimated travel costs to your area. If schools and libraries in the same area team up for consecutive events, they may share the airfare cost. For visits involving travel fees, I will provide lots of free book swag and giveaways. Ask about discount available if books are purchased in advance.
Presentation and Workshop Details: (Brochure available soon which includes full details, connections to state standards, and reproducible teaching materials.)
- Group presentations are for auditorium periods. Venues may choose which topics work best for their needs. The range of topics includes STEM connections in my books, using non-fiction research when writing fiction, cross-curriculum connections–when science, math, social studies, and English unite to make a novel, to talks on anxiety, mental health, and addiction issues, growing up poor and finding your own path, my publication journey…the list goes on and on.
- My workshops are hands-on lessons in creative writing. Great for middle school, high school, and adults. Beginner to more advanced offerings available. 20 people max. Venues may choose which topics work best for their needs. Topics include creating dynamic characters, researching your ideas, writing fan fiction, finding your voice, writing better dialogue, modeling techniques, writing what you know (narrative/memoir), pacing and plot, editing techniques…again, so much to choose from!
